What is Candy AI?

Candy AI is a browser-based companion service run by EverAI. You build a partner, chat with them, and ask for photos, voice messages, voice calls and short video clips. Subscribers get unlimited text chat. Everything else (images, video, voice and new custom characters) runs on a monthly token grant. The big draw is the price: the yearly plan comes to $3.99 a month, paid as $47.88 up front. Monthly billing is $9.99 for the first month and $13.99 after that. You use it in a web browser. The free tier gives you 5 messages, 1 custom character and 1 image, so it is only a quick look.

Character builder

You choose ethnicity, age range, eyes, hair, body type, personality, voice and hobbies. That is more control over looks than most companion apps give you, and you set it all before the chat starts.

Photos, voice and video

Your companion can send images and voice messages, and you can start a voice call (still marked beta). You can also turn a generated image into a short video clip. Every Premium plan lists 18+ images and video on the subscriptions page.

Tokens

Paid plans include 100 tokens a month, or 330 on Premium Plus. Tokens pay for images, video, voice messages, calls and extra custom characters. Text chat does not use them.

Memory

Candy says your companion remembers your preferences. Premium Plus adds 20 memory slots. Memory is tied to the active chat, so it does not carry across separate conversations.

The catch

The privacy notice allows de-identified chats to be used to train AI models, and account data can be kept up to 3 years after your last activity. Age checks are a self-declaration at the door. The refund rule is strict: within 24 hours, card payments only, and 20 tokens or fewer used. And 100 tokens a month goes fast if you like photos and calls. Third-party reviews are thin, too: the Trustpilot profile was removed for a guideline breach.

Final verdict

Candy AI is a good fit if you want a cheap companion that can send photos and talk back, and you are fine paying for a year up front. The builder is detailed and text chat has no cap. If you care about what happens to your chats, look elsewhere: the training clause and the long data retention are the real cost here. Heavy media users should also expect to buy more tokens or switch to Premium Plus.
